Living by values

Your values are the lenses through which you view yourself
and your world. They are the basis for your thoughts, feelings,
and behavior. Your values are also the grounds for your
self-evaluation and your evaluations of other people. Values are
standards and are experienced as “shoulds” and “oughts.” If you
value Financial Prosperity you believe that you should do what is
necessary to accumulate wealth. If one of your highly prioritized
values is Concern for Others, and a person you know is sensitive
to others, you are likely to see that person in a positive light.
